Sites Reservoir does not rely on snow-melt but captures winter runoff from uncontrolled streams below the existing reservoirs in the Sacramento Valley. Much of the rainfall from extreme events – especially those that occur back-to-back when the ground is saturated – runs off before it can be captured for maximum environmental, urban and agricultural benefit. Sites Reservoir will increase the resiliency of water supplies because it will not rely on spring snowmelt for filling but instead will capture storm-related runoff and a portion of storm-related flood water.
The Sites Reservoir project began with the public relations company Katz & Associates in early 2019. They had developed detailed creative mockups and needed a developer to bring the design to life. A suitable template was chosen to customize, and various plugins were installed to accomodate the desired features.
A requested feature of the site is a private document portal, in which members can log in to view a private page. The private access was acheived using MemberPress. This includes the ability to udpate passwords, restore lost passwords, and access other account details..
